istanbul
a brief note: i moved to istanbul after 2 years of nomadic living.
day i arrived: december 17 2021
before istanbul: santorini, greece
ongoing projects:
istanbul travel deck
a central park with curved paths like layers of cake, joggers, and dogs
a hilly garden of an old ottoman palace, and one of my favorite parks in the world
a bridge to watch the sunset, between ancient landmarks and Istanbul motifs
if I had to choose one touristy place to visit in istanbul, it would be this.
a long, open waterfront park on the asia side of Istanbul
on sunday afternon we left the house late and took a 1.5 hour ferry to get to prince islands
this red dot is me: traveling from my home on top of a hill to catch the dolmuş
all the ways in which my day-to-day has changed after adopting a dog
looking for a cat and i found a dog. neither came home with me.
i spent the last three mornings looking for a black cat — which wasn’t even mine to begin with
a deposition of the things i saw and felt on the way
they are not exactly tasty but i still can’t stop eating them
ongoing curations of my istanbul, with places of interest and places of headache
on interspecies love, games, and care — how living with a cat makes a house feel more homey and magical
I haven’t written about my day to day life in a while - perhaps because, ever since I started traveling, (and even after I “stopped”) the days continue to float by like a dream
