we go to macka park at least a few times a week. I let luna off leash and she chases the birds. compared to yildiz park, i’d say that it does feels more “democratic.” it’s also more crowded. all the dog owners of istanbul seem to bring their dogs here. 90% of the joggers i see in istanbul (not a large population to begin with) come jogging here.
as a park, i’d say - it’s fine. a bit littered with cigarette butts, but there are nice hidden spots, and open hills where you can sit, or lay down, and let gravity hold you up.

i’m getting to a point where the picture kind of just draws itself. i was in a moody funk today and sat down at 1pm to draw this, and got up at 2:30, complete. i started the drawing with only three curvy lines, then filled in the structural details, then the trees, the benches, the leaves, the birds, the cat, and lastly, luna. i’m pleased to have found a rhythm.
