15 minute cactus drawing

creative practice > process

i’ve been so busy these days with house on the webs that my mind-head-space feels fully occupied with the act of world-building- gardening. for others. for myself in support of others.

but. i know that if i don’t draw something everyday, i feel off. and since i’m always looking for new challenges, i thought i’d give myself the assignment of doing 15 minute drawings. this is what i’ll do on days when i don’t really have time to sit for 2 hours and animate something (like this bosphorous simit view). it is a totally different feeling - while still exercising the visual brain.

today i challenged myself to use two brushes on procreate i normally don’t use: MARKER and VINE CHARCOAL. i’m in love with this cactus plant on my window sill (which i’m sure i’ll draw over and over again). it reminds me of that one time when i started at a cactus fruit plant in santorini - sitting outside on the porch every morning drawing it.

on another note: today the weather in istanbul is: very schizophrenic. snow and sun ten times within the hour. i will make a weather chart another day.
