”this was everything I needed and more”

“This course was everything I needed and more to push my webhouse out of my head and into the world. Kening has created such a thoughtful and well crafted experience to guide you gently but firmly through the process of creating a website. I found so much joy in each lesson - it turned the daunting task of building a website into a wonderful immersive experience. The feminist methods for building the webhouse - a place to share yourself with the world - resonated strongly with me.”

The language and way in which the course was framed - was gentle and nurturing yet powerful and succinct. Everyday the lesson was exactly what I needed to hear - the language and method validating the way I want to be in the world and always anticipating and reading my mind on next steps or loose ends. It was like she could see inside my messy mind and untangle thoughts into an organized and thoughtful process.

you will come out completely transformed”

“Kening is an inspiring guide through the scorpionic underworld of creating your own house on the webs. She makes the process feel simple, but by the end of the course you will come out completely transformed. Anyone who wants a place to call their own on the Internet would benefit from working with Kening.

“This course has significantly improved my life. It has been transformative in the way I imagine spending time on the Internet, and now I have my house on the webs, I have made the decision to leave social media (something I've wanted to do for a long time), and to restart my newsletter. I have so much more mental space, and clarity as a result. I found this course made me actually do the work, rather than endlessly plan it out, and now I have a website! It was also a therapeutic experience, which made me realise that I no longer want to play things safe in my business, I no longer want to separate my own creative practice from the work I do for others, and that I can trust my own vision, rather than second-guessing what others want.

I loved this course, and I thought that Kening was an amazing underworld guide.”

a journey of web design as nourishment and self-care”

"Kening's approach centered everything I look for in online spaces — compassion, authenticity, reflectiveness — things that the internet needs more of today.
This was a journey of web design as nourishment and self-care. I felt so at ease seeing my online home come together with her guidance and feedback!”

without this course, it probably would have taken me another 5 years”

without this course, it probably would have taken me another 5 years to finally populate my website and publish it to the world. Kening is an amazing teacher in the way that she breaks down a (truly very time-consuming) project into bite-sized steps that feel motivating and possible to complete. She's gone through the process she teaches so many times and speaks expertly to the emotional pitfalls and other barriers that come up along the way, which really help to eliminate doubts or make you feel "oh, this barrier I'm coming up against is normal." Most of all, I love that Kening is an artist through and through and intends for you to express yourself on the internet in an integrated and holistic way; yet she's also super rigorous, process-oriented, and systematic so that everything always feels concrete and achievable.

faq

  1. do I need any technical skills to take this course?

no, only the basics. but you should feel comfortable with learning new skills, and open to learning.

  2. what’s different about your approach?

I emphasize an organic, intuitive creative process - with daily structures to keep you focused in the execution. the course is rooted in a philosophy of websites as living, breathing spaces that reflect you. my approach will require you to dig deep inside yourself and distill your offerings to its essence. I will push you to speak your truth, and translate it into a website - even if it’s not “finished.” nothing ever is. (see my creative beings course for more on this)

  3. what do I need to bring to the course?

commitment to go all in, and openness to learn. it’s best to allot 2-3 hours a day - though you can easily spend more. also great to come with a rough draft of your vision & offering (see below), and a shortlist of your domain name.

  4. I already have a website! can I take this course?

yes, of course. this is about a continual process of self-definition.

  5. what platform will we be using to build the website?

my tutorials will be about squarespace. you can use others.

  6. what if I already have a website on another platform?

this will only be relavant halfway through the course. I can help you with migration, or work with you.

  7. i have more questions!

    great. email me.

a manifesto for a more beautiful internet

*

let’s make the internet a more magical, mysterious, wild and beautiful place - where creative spirits can have homes and anyone can visit - forming a web of micro-villages - empowering us to build new forms of freedom & expression; and an inter-connected economy of our gifts & offerings; digital spaces we own & evolve, where our friends and stranger-friends can visit, sit, have a tea with us, and pause…

manifesto for house on the webs

you don’t belong in a box. your dreams can outgrow your resume. you don’t need to dice yourself up into bite-sized, palettable pieces. your work is more than a showroom. you are more than the sum of your parts. you have nothing to prove.

your website can feel like a home you inhabit, slowly. a garden of growing things. an evolving ecosystem. a gift for strangers. an ongoing conversation. it can be a place where you allow yourself to show up, unapologetically, as you. you can be complex, multi-faceted, non-linear, changing. you can be brave.

so, give yourself permission to take up space. create spaces that hold. connect. speak your truth. carry a vision.

if you could build that infinity place on the webs, what would it look like? what will you plant? what do you need to say?
