put your tsunami in a jar

if you’re experiencing bad inner weather, try this:

put your tsunami in a jar.

it’s not easy. it takes effort, for sure. it is far too tempting to allow it free rein, free access to engulfing and obliterating every part of your day — such is the awesome power of a tsunami - such that you (i) end up in a lethargic, let-me-get-this-day-over-with state, in bed - but sometimes life calls otherwise. life wants you to do things. animals need to be fed. meals need to be cooked. work needs to be done. emails need to be written. therefore, the tsunami is not the end-all, be-all of everything, and maybe we can think of it as a gift - in the first place - to even harbor a tsunami, but this doesn’t mean it needs to be the number one priority, at all times. maybe it’s better saved, and opened again, on a rainy day, when there is space for it. so in the meantime, can you learn to put it in a jar? this is what I’m working on, these days.
