moda park in winter, istanbul

one of the reasons i choose this city to settle a bit and live in (and leave, and return, and leave just so i can return) is because of its abundance of coastline, and how it is a city which has water as its main element. did you know that? istanbul would not be istanbul without its waters.

this, above, is a view i saw one saturday, sitting on the rocks with a friend, after looking at two apartments to rent nearby in the neighborhood. i sat there looking at the beautiful old house, remembering how the grey foggy water in wintertime looked vaguely like the lake in my hometown. do all bodies of water remind me of each other? is there an ecosystem in the mind, where all waterbodies are connected, because we, ourselves, are bodies of mostly water?

and i sat there thinking how i would remember that moment. now i drew it, so i will definitely never forget it.
