variation on the word sleep by margaret atwood - animated poem

 

this is a labor of love for my friend amelia, who just got married, and whom i’ve known for 13 years (!!!). we have such a rich friendship that spans art, love, business, life.

as her wedding gift, I offered to animate a poem - any poem - to her reading it outloud, and she choose this margaret atwood love poem. I don’t think I understood what it truly meant until after I listened to it outloud 1000 times.

this is my first “real” animation, and took me 31 hours over 5 days, the bulk of which took place over 2 days. i will do a separate process post about this soon.
