the lush greenness of everything means that everywhere you go, the millions of leaves seem to be dancing, fluttering like butterflies, whispering amongst themselves. green becomes a symbol of retreat and sanctuary — a moment’s piece under the shade of a tree. recently, i’ve been thinking how variations of green — like variations on blue (sea, sky, ocean, water) — is so deeply soothing. a forest bath. a long bike ride. summer is when you can sink into the green; let it envelop you.
