moon shaped time cards

I made these moon shaped time cards out of three pieces of black cardstock and old origami paper that I must have hoarded for 8 years, carried across oceans and refused to use, except in very special circumstances.

this week I woke up one day and felt overwhelmed by all that I had to do, and how time felt like an immovable block — like a giant glacier, or like water, slipping through my fingers. when I felt overwhelmed by having too much, I felt paralyzed by time. I couldn’t parcel it out, nor could I dip myself into its rivers and be with it.

so, for moments of such indecision, I felt the urge for these time cards — to help me focus on how much time I was dedicating to a particular project. it’s like a beautiful, poetic sort of pomodoro timer, except it’s not a tomato and it doesn’t make noise. and you can take however long breaks you want.

pair with: my immersion deck.
