cocoon in your tent

what do you need to cocoon? simply something to cocoon with. these days, lost inside my valley of dark shadows, I remind myself that I have everything I need to build a tent. to start a fire. to wrap myself in warmth, and to lay down and rest. the purpose of blankets is not to provide warmth, but to insulate warmth. the body creates all the warmth we need. everything we need for nourishment and strength is already within. here. now. we simply have to insulate it.

so what does a cocoon need, if not simply — things to wrap itself with? a vessel which insulates — from the cold, shadows, and wind? so I strip away everything. I wrap myself in a simple life. I meditate. I make art. I water my plants. I water myself. I work. I study. I throw pottery. I journal. I sleep. I cherish the hours of long darkness before sleep, and after opening my eyes. I am hoping to sleep for nine, twelve, fourteen hours tonight, and tomorrow, and the next day — and wake up, eventually, in a different place.
