CARE LESS about what happens or doesn’t happen / what works out or doesn’t work out / what turns out well or doesn’t turn out well. the secret, it seems, is finding detachment from even the things that truly matter — art, love, work, fate — to work on stop caring so much and needing control and reassurance, because that need sucks the oxygen from the air; pressurizes each situation and fills it with needless fear, dread, and anxiety. what if you could love without worrying about the ultimate “outcome” of the relationship, make art without needing anyone to see it, start a business without being so attached to how things sell? how much mental and emotional energy would you conserve — when you can go through the same actions, but be less attached to the results, to outcome, and to validation?

and when you CARE LESS, you can also FEEL MORE — find spaciousness inside yourself for all the small movements of emotion, feelings, and thoughts. cultivate inspiration in every flickering of the world within. you can be present to everything that passes, be true witness to yourself. even the want, even the desire, even the craving, even the fear and angst. you hold space for everything that lives in you; to everything that passes through you.
