an early morning ferry to a greek island

i take an early morning ferry from athens to naxos. there is some feeling to catching a boat, a plane, a train - in the darkness before sunrise. it feels like a real escape - to wake up and be gone. eveyone is leeping, but i am wide awake and savoring this feeling of being beyond reach, lost at sea, especially to myself. by noon, cowds of old french tourists eat burgers next to me. i arrive.
