the fire in me

it is about knowing how to speak to, to tame, to evoke — the fire in me. I felt this fire in me long before I gave it room to breathe. I felt it in me while working at jobs and relationships I no longer wanted, telling me always, to leave. to go far away and alone, to a space big enough to hold — to somewhere where we could truly be. these days I sit alone in the darkness and remember my fire. I speak to it. I breathe.
