3.11.2021 — the beginning of a map

since moving not-moving to berlin, I’ve been walking, nearly everyday, to this airfield park. it is the most expansive place I’ve been to in a big city, where the horizon stretches out in all directions, and you feel like you could be somewhere else, anywhere else. this is the magic of an airport — it is an in between space.

today I’m starting this map with just a minimalist set of landmarks as reference points:

  • circus entrance — the closest entrance to my apartment

  • double tree secret — my special place I go to be alone

  • grassy sea — the quiet place for picnics

  • magnificant tree — I like to lay down on the trunk

  • high chairs — holding memories that do not make me happy

  • double rainbow — sighted on this day

  • skaters & beer — very rowdy, fake cool

  • epic sunset place — crowded, but still the best spot for sunsets
