i'm opening an inspiration library

and it is very backlogged, of course. how could I even begin to document all the things which have inspired me in the past? life inspires me everyday. even when I don’t go anywhere, or see anything, or talk to anyone. the sound of the trees inspire me. the color of two radishes inspires me. light through the window inspires me.

somedays, inspiration comes from within. easily. I wake up with a phrase in my head that wants to be written down, or a yearning for a certain color palette, or a hunger to hear a particular kind of sound. so I put on headphones and give myself a sound bath. or paint the exact shade I see in my mind. or, I close my eyes and roll around inside a poem.

or sometimes I don’t. sometimes I wake up dry and empty and feel like a useless log. a body that needs sleep and food. on those days, it is good to have inspiration — individually wrapped in small, candy sized packages - should I be in the mood to digest it.

I don’t read the internet — except as an encyclopedia. I actively avoid social media. and I barely read my email inbox. so I’d like to nurture a private inspiration library — of things I’ve absorbed and digested in the past, distilled down with my thoughts and feelings and reactions (specific to the time and context) — and then, an ongoing wishlist for things (books, films, music, etc) I’d like to explore more deeply in the future. I have a gazillion such lists, and they all get lost somewhere on my phone or computer — but if I put it in this web house, I’ll be compelled to keep it orderly.

for you, of course. I hope you’ll like it.
