book map of contents: draft version

today i drew the rough design for the “map of contents” for the first experimental book collection of my travel writings. it was only when i returned to new york city this spring that i realized i could finally complete a full circle — on the page, or in my head. the end of 2020 was only the artifical conclusion of a journey — the real “end” and “beginning” happens at the same time, when you return to the place you started, only to find that it’s no longer the place you thought it was, and yet, it is everything: it is your past self, contained in time and space, like a memory capsule. that was new york city for me.

here’s a vlog I made in january about this book: my 2020 recap. i’m late! but it will happen.
