blue dome of unsolvable mysteries

one day i took a bus into the mountain villages and saw a blue domed church at the top of a mountain peak, and it reminded me of the mosques i saw in istanbul - in which the dome seemed to represent the universe, and that great collection of celestial bodies, and i remembered the feeling of laying on that stone slab in a 14th century hamam, looking up into a white dome with tiny skylights, looking up into the sky. and what a strange thing - to exist on this earth, as human beings, not knowing for sure if there is a god, or reincarnation, or destiny, or true love, or good and evil, or whatever — any of the things humans choose to believe in. what is the point of being alive if it weren’t full of unsolvable mysteries that no one knows the answers to?

so, then i saw this image in my head. and i drew it.
