about me, 2021

hello, and welcome to this place.

I make art of varied forms: writing, visual, and film — about voyaging into the inner world, and what I see and absorb in the outer world. I seek truth and beauty, and trust in art as a way of transformation, and a path into living fully awake.

I teach courses for kindred creative spirits, and help them dream-build in my studio.

I keep a daily journal, send a weekly digest, and a quarterly-ish newsletter.

right now — I’m spending the winter in Berlin, cocooned in my forest.

before — I was born in a silver lake city in China, raised in a small tobacco town in the US, and went to college in New York, where I studied nonfiction writing and history at Columbia. I lived in New York for ten years, then left in 2020 to slow-travel the world.
